Stanford University, founded in 1891, is a private, comprehensive, research-intensive university, where teaching, learning and research are part of a single enterprise.
Stanford’s enterprising character draws from its Western location and from the legacy of Jane and Leland Stanford. Its areas of excellence range from the humanities to the social sciences, engineering and the sciences.
The layout and character of Stanford’s Quadrangle were developed by Frederick Olmsted, designer of New York’s Central Park. The 8,180-acre campus includes Moorish Spanish and French Romanesque architecture.
It is located in Stanford, adjacent to Palo Alto, 30 miles south of San Francisco. The university is organized around three traditional schools consisting of 40 academic departments at the undergraduate and graduate level and four professional schools that focus on graduate programs in law, medicine, education and business.
Students compete in 36 varsity sports, and the university is one of two private institutions in the Division FBS Pac 12 Conference.

Admission Requirements (Masters):-
To be eligible for admission to graduate programs at Stanford, applicants must meet one of the following conditions:
Applicants must hold, or expect to hold before enrollment at Stanford, a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association.
Applicants from institutions outside the U.S. must hold the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a college or university of recognized standing.
Note:- You may apply to only one degree program per academic year, with these exceptions: within the Biosciences, you may apply to up to three Ph.D. programs within your one application; or you may apply concurrently to one departmental program and to a professional school program (law, medicine, or business).

Application Fee:- The application fee of $125. Application fees are non-refundable and submitted with the online application. The GSE provides a limited number of fee waivers during the application cycle.

Regardless of citizenship, applicants are reviewed in the context and country where they attend high school. In addition, Stanford is committed to meeting demonstrated financial need for all admitted students (regardless of citizenship) who have requested financial aid during the application process.
